So, I fixed the page layout problems with my portfolio. Yay, quicker load time! I also added the code section, with 1 EXE. The code will come soon, once I finish putting in comments and such to make it understandable.
Figured I'd make this announcement. A new admin Jackemmenjaser will be arriving soon. Jack is my brother, and currently stationed in Iraq. I'm working on setting up his page, he wants something mildly different. What will he be adding to the site, you might ask? Well, He's a photographer. So you can see tons of nice and pretty pictures there. He'll also be writing stories, if you don't mind reading. Let us see... what else? OH! That server side issue, still going on. For some reason when I try my cPanel it just doesn't want to work, but when I FTP everything works. This just made PHP programming even more annoying. Going to go through, with Jack's layout, and update all of them to the new fixed frame ones soon. When Jack's section comes online all parts of the site should have a quick load time. Blog and review could come shortly!

So, I login today to see that my server is rejecting me from our news system. Got that fixed now. I spent a good hour or two trying to fix the problem, when I was doing it right all along. The deal was any direct editing I was doing to the server wasn't really being saved. What made me realize this was I edited,moved, and renamed the index.php and it's new file wasn't saved. I loaded it up on an FTP program everythign was still there. I'm not even sure if this news is going to post. Now I gotta see what's up with the server and such, see if I didn't accidently overdo it's secuirty.

Me 1: Bots 30 |
Well, it's finally happened. what? I finally beat the bots, forsure. Usually a bot'll get around my very limited secuirty and I'll be pissed, but it stops most bots. Well, my news register system has been beating bots, for good. How do I know?About 5 bots signed up, with names like "FREE PORN!" and "MEDS4U". Here's the deal, they've never once commented, why? Because bots just login with that detail once, forget it, and spam up. Well, the login page for my news system is, NOTHING. They'd have to go back to each post, write their deal, then login to post, but the bots can't do that. So it's official, I beat bots. The Spam poison had been beating a lot of the bots, butsome of the really good one's can ignore it. So, without further stalling: FUCK YOU BOTS! I finally did it.
Working on more background stuff, not sure when it'll be done. Some of it relies on the other admins when they get their content up then it'll be shown. I also should have a code for my code section up soon. More then likely in two days, or less.

Forums back |

The forums are back. The deal is now it's not working properly and I had to do a fresh install. I couldn't figure out how to fix the problem, so that sucks. I backed up everything important, except usernames, and it's not allowing me to upload them, or it's not installing them. This is very tiresome and annoying. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get the forums working properly. A lot of private stuff going on these days, and it seems more then likely the new admins will start to post stuff once I get this super secret thing done. As it'll then allow them to do what they want to do, and let me be lazy. Currently I'm showing it off to some of the admins and seeing how they like what I've got set up so far or not. A lot of production done today, none you really get to see, other then the forums, which are a nice place to chat.

A major site update |
Yesterday we had two worthless updates, which I now wished I held for today. First off I fixed the layout. Apparently I left a giant empty table uptop which led to the layout being misplaced and down low. Second because I got tired of looking at blank pages I sked each admin what their favorite color was and made a layout based off that. Once they send me a layout or a design then their's will change. As we all know, it takes a lot for me to get tired of a layout not being there. I mean, Elvenmonk.net first started off (I mean when I first got the .net) as a blank page saying "Waiting for files to be transfered! But download these songs!" Then listed 3 of my friends and their songs they made. For about 7 months, maybe 5. Then I just updated it to a simple frame based layout, then that got wiped (server problems) and it was a blank page again for 4 months, then I added a new layout. Then the site went down, completely(major server problems) then it came up as a white page for 2 months, then I got this layout working. That's not even counting the ammount of times when it was .tk when it was blank. Next I added a Links section to my profile. You can now see what sites I visit often, forums I post on, and games I play. It'll be updated more as time goes by. I also put my usernames incase you wanted to contact me. I then fixed some other layout problems. See, when I first was working on this layout I got tired of making a new one, so I went and found one someone else did and then modified it so it looked more like how I imagined mine then added the colors and all this. Well, the people I got it from had very sloppy code. Commas, quotes, brackets, everything misplaced. It's what made it take so long to load. So now I fixed it and it loads faster as it's not fixing the code as it goes. What I find funny is the people expected people to donate $10 for the layout when it was designed very shittily.
So in cap: Fixed layout/load times, added designs to portfolios, added a new section in my portfolio, and said the history of .net.
Edit: I also added a register page for commenting on the main index only.
