Woo! Snow Day!
Not really. The ice is melting and it's very sunny outside (although, it's probably very cold).

Anyway, since the school is closed today, I had some time to catch up with stuff. Dumb ol' me. I forgot to put up update posts for the portfolios. If you haven't caught on yet, well . . . now you know. If you did, I put up some more works in all of the sections (WIP, finished works, and sketchbook). 5 in total.

About the WIP section: I don't want to put up ALL the progress previews for just one work. That's at least 14 pages for me to do! So, if you want, I can make a separate gallery with all the thumbnails for you to browse (God willing if that's doesn't take up too much space). That'll be up after I finish the piece I'm currently working on.

Also, the MLK work I just put up does belong in the Finished Works section. However, I do need to scan or take a picture of the finished product. tongue (That's if I get it back in time.)

On a separate note, I'm a bit anxious about the Ac-Dec competition coming up (and VERY SOON). So I'm going to use this extra time to prepare for interview questions, look at cram kits, and buy a pencil skirt that's not too tight around the tummy.

Peace out.

Edit: Whenever I have any extra time, I'll put up a link for the latest work in the Finished Works and Sketchbook sections. That way, you don't have to end up browsing 100+ pages worth of work to view the new post. But, for now, I'm going to be lazy and just post 'em here.

WIP:
"Rayza - The Plant God"

Finished Works:
"Sharing the Dream '09"

Sketchbook:
The Nutcracker
Geek Squad
Posemaniac 1

Yeah my pink flamingos will outlive everyone!
So, I'm still alive, but barely. This seems to have been a bad month for the ol' Elvenmonk.net-ism. Why? Well, I'm sick, been busy with school work, been busy with robot programming, busy with the game I'm working on, busy with the secret project, busy doing this and that, and lovely errors. I had a new blog post and it was close to being done then out of nowhere it erased it's self. Yeah, that fucking sucks. Among this I'm working on a layout for sAp. but that's been put off for a while. Being sick really puts a hold on everything. Starting a new semester adds new work. Not only that but the robot competition I'm in is next week and the robot my partnet built we decided to destroy and re-do completely. Problem is that it's Feb 7th. Not only do we have to re-build the robot, but we have to program it. We're doing maze and ball retrevial with it aswell, so we have to double code and work on a maze version of the bot aswell. Yeah, lots of work.

Oh, I figured I'd say this. Dead Rising: Chop 'Till You Drop. Yes, there's 1 melee slot, it's mainly focused on guns, and you can't jump. Why? They're using the Resident Evil 4 engine. The RE4 engine couldn't jump and was gun focused to start with. Yes, guns were a bit dumb to use in the 360 version but the RE4 engine works well with guns. 1 Melee slot? You know what, ohwell. The fact there's 1 melee spot makes it more realistic. I don't know about you, but I can't carry a golf club, a cash register, a katana, a chair, and two chainsaws all at once. Now, 4 pistols and a sword, yeah that I can carry. Now, the joke about no zombies. You know what? Shut the fuck up with that shit. Rockband 2 Wii proves the Wii can do what thw 360 can. Rockband 2 Wii has customizable characters, the real World Tour Mode (not the gay crap they stuck us PS2 users with), DLC, and all the other stuff that's in the 360 version. It's litterally just a 480p version of the 360 and PS3 version. So, the Wii can do far more then people exepct. Proof? Look into The Conduit. That shows some what of what the Wii can do. Now, back to the Zombies. They've shown screenshots where there's 100+ zombies. People who've played the demos said there were tons of zombies and it ran smoothly (much more played smoothly too). Now, the no pictures. I don't get the reason for taking away the main reason of the game. The pictures I found fun because afterI beat someone I'd take a picture of them in pain, or getting munched on by zombies. A good way to level up aswell. Yes, I will be picking this up. I will give a honest review as someone who has played both versions.
Also I want House of the Dead Over-Kill, Mad World, and Sadness when it comes out.

HTML N00b - Portfolio pages are up.
Yay!

After a couple of hours playing around with HTML, I've made a few pages for the finished works section as well as the WIP section. It's not much, but it's a start. Also, there's some kinks here and there that need to be fixed, such as links and getting them to fit within the iframe.

Fixed. :) I also added the sketchbook section.

Now that I'm done lollygagging, it's time to get back to work now. Have a nice day, folks. :)

Yours truly, HTML N00b.

Ads
So, I changed the way the google ad looks so it fits better with the main layout. I figure when I finish up Orochi's page I'll work with her on what advertidsements she'll want for her page. Each admin with their own ads, sounds nice. Along with this small news, I also fixed the ad system after I forgot all my stuff and started screwing around in the MySQL. Then I just re-installed everything because I was back to square 1. I also inscreased the rates of which the advertisements change. I do encourage you to click the google ads so I can score some cash.

It's done? Oh shit, it's a new years.
If you check now, Orochi's portfolio is no longer a plain blank white page! It now has a layout and all that goodness! Note, if you're on her page you'll notice the layout is completely different. I also have her RSS feed done and up. I'll have to work with her some to finish up the missing links and such, but that'll be no problem. Note, also, if you're reading this on her page this is a global announcement. :P Well, it's up, you should check it out, it looks nice, and Happy New Years everyone! Hope you have a good one, and a productive one. So, out of my list the only one's I didn't complete were finishing my game and fixing up the sAp. site. Second one wont take long but the game might. It's my school project, so it was really me getting a head start. Oh well, back to Moral Orel's last night on air.crying
