Why do people keep letting this happen?

Why is it that experienced artists/members condone each other to act so childishly and yet reprove newbies so harshly for behaving in the same manner?

For god’s sake, most of the experienced members should know better than to act like this. They’re all like what, 20 to 30 years old? I mean, geez, these guys should already know that there will always be the few who aren’t going to listen and sometimes have a rotten attitude. They already know how those types of situations would unravel. They know that just shoving advice down people's throats is not going to help. And what do they do? Instead of ignoring some snot-nosed kid or someone who just wouldn't listen, they add more fire to the fuel. And this makes them better how?

It makes me sad how some of wisest and most talented artists have become tools. It makes me question whether I should be associated with people who act like that.
