You know, this takes me back. I haven’t written an about me on my website in a decade. Christ, I am an old man! Of course, I also started my website at a young age.
So, who is Joshua? I am Joshua! Despite the grammar in my posts I am, in fact, a TEFL certified teacher who moved to Asia. I just don’t care on my website to be correct. I don’t really proof read any of my posts either. Just enough to fix the spelling error lines and that’s it.
My hobbies include playing guitar, drums, and the synthesizer. My guitar is nothing special. It is a Fender Squier Bullet Strat. I am aware that this is not a good guitar; I hear it often so hush. I like my guitar and I got it for $5 with everything. My synthesizer, which I had to leave back home :(, is a Yamaha CS1X. That blue baby is my treasure and I miss it every day. I also have an Akai MPK49 midi controller. I’m fine with leaving that behind. My drum kit was a modified Rock Band 2 drum kit to work as an electronic USB drum kit with my laptop. Believe me, I have heard EVERYTHING you could say about that. The oddest was someone saying I should’ve used the Beatles Rock Band drum kit. I also can somewhat use a Korg Kaossilator. Currently I use the mobile version for samples but I do want to get a Kaossilator 2.
For music software I use FL Studio 20, FL Mobile, Abelton Live, Caustic, and of course Audacity. I have Acid Pro but it is dog shit.
The rest of my hobbies including writing, programming, playing games, solving puzzles and riddles, cooking, gardening, skateboarding, and reading. Lately I have been picking up making my own music and reverse engineering.
For games I use whatever engine or software suits my needs. About 6 years ago I made my own engine, BookEngine2, and it is lost to time. I love to design games and write storyboards for games. I also like to write poems, stories, and was writing a book that I stopped working on due to depression. My writings often deal with darker tones, depression, and the themes can be random or not existent. I sometimes just write stories because it was interesting with no real point. However, I do like to write happy stuff too, but I just haven’t had the inspiration lately for it.
I used to run a YouTube channel called Backlog Buddies and Game Highlighter. It feels weird just switching the content since I can’t make Backlog Buddies anymore and I lost inspiration for Game Highlighters. So, I am starting a new channel titled “Joshua Does”. It’ll be purely random stuff.
Other then that I am a shit poster who likes the laugh at horrible things. My music tastes are Rock, Metal, Happy Hardcore, Techno, EDM, New Wave, and Industrial.
